Ivy's Homemade Hot Chocolate

I started making this hot chocolate last year and fell head-over-heels in love, well I don't really wear heels very often but, you get the point. It's really, really, really good and very easy to make.

I made this cocoa tons of times to keep us toasty in the gloomy weather and my hubby would constantly request it and sometimes try to invite everyone over to have some. Funny now, but not at the time when your not always prepared. Haha. ANYWAAAAAAY...

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup semi-sweet cocolate chips
4 cups whole milk
cocoa powder and nutmeg for sprinkling on top
a heat proof bowl that can hold melted chocolate and 4 cups milk

What to do:
-Melt chocolate chips in a glass bowl over an inch or two of simmering water.

(Is that gold in my chocolate?)
-Slowly add 1/4 cup of milk at a time mixing well each time.
-Do this until all your milk is added(chocolate should be fully mixed with milk)

-Keep heating mixture until your desired temperature.
-With a laddle, scoop into mugs and sprinkle with some sifted cocoa powder and nutmeg.

THE END!

Mmm...this looks absolutely sinful. I've made homemade chocolate with cocoa powder before, but never melted chocolate. Will definitely have to try this.

I'm not a huge hot chocolate fan but that does look wonderfully delicious! I think I will try your recipe on my son who often makes his hot chocolate from those little packets that come in a box. And, of course, I will save back a few tastes for myself. Maybe I will be converted!

Although I love summer and warm weather I must admit that a nice hot chocolate is so nice to have when the cooler days arrive!
